Creating a route means adding a vehicle, its associated products, and defining the route’s start and/or end time (if available) within a route plan.
Routes help you track deliveries and product movements, and are essential for accurate temperature monitoring and reporting.
A route cannot exist without a route plan.
🧩 How Routes Are Created
WMS-Enabled DCs
Routes are created by the WMS and sent to VeroFresh.
If needed, WMS-enabled DCs can manually create a route.
Non-WMS DCs
Routes are created automatically by VeroFresh using telemetry data and based on the route plan.
-
Non-WMS DCs can manually create a route, but it is not recommended because it can cause:
Duplicate routes
Telemetry data not linking
Unassigned routes due to mismatched times
| Please check this Support Article for more information on how to identify whether your DC is WMS-Enabled or not. |
🛠️ When You May Need to Manually Create a Route
Below are the valid scenarios for manually creating a route:
✔️ WMS Did Not Create the Route (WMS DCs only)
The WMS failed to generate or transmit the route.
✔️ System Issue
veroFresh failed to create the route due to a system error.
⚠️ Important Notes for Non-WMS DCs
Manual creation is not recommended for non-WMS DCs because:
❌ Telemetry issues will not be fixed
Even if you manually create the route:
Stops may still be marked as missed
Temperature data may be incomplete or missing
You may reach out to your telematics provider so they can fix any transmission issues from the trailer.
❌ Routes won’t link if times fall outside the route plan
A manually created route will not link if:
-
The route’s time range falls outside the route plan’s time range.
For example, the actual route’s time range is 3 AM–10 AM, but the route plan’s time range is 11 AM–2 PM.
This will still show as Unassigned.
To resolve this, we recommend either ensuring the trailer runs the route within the time established by the route plan or amplifying the route plan's start and end time.
❌ Duplicates may be created
Non-WMS DCs already auto-create routes; manually adding one may result in two versions of the same route.
