This article discusses common route issues you may encounter in veroFresh™.
There are several types of route issues you may encounter in veroFresh™. The cause depends on whether your Distribution Center (DC) is WMS-enabled or not and whether the trailer is transmitting sensor data correctly.
If your DC is WMS-enabled, your WMS team is responsible for creating and linking routes. If not, veroFresh™ automatically creates and links your routes.
To identify whether your DC is WMS-enabled, see the article Identifying if Your DC Is WMS-Enabled.
Common Route Issues
1. Unlinked Route Plans / Missing Routes
An “Unlinked Route Plan” or “Missing Route” refers to a route that was expected in veroFresh™ but was either not created or not linked correctly to its route plan.
You can identify these by going to the Route Plans page and checking the Route column.
- If you see the “+ Create Route” option, it means the route is missing or unlinked.
- If a route plan has no trailer linked to it, it is considered an unlinked route plan.
This issue may be caused by different reasons, however, these may be different depending on whether your DC is WMS-enabled or not.
Please refer to this Support Article first to check whether your DC is WMS-enabled or not.
WMS-Enabled DCs
For WMS-enabled DCs, missing routes or unlinked route plans usually mean the WMS did not create the route.
If the route does not appear in veroFresh™ or the route plan shows “+ Create Route” option as in the image above, the route was not created by your WMS.
You can contact your WMS team to understand why the route was not created. Once you’ve verified the reason, you can manually create the route by clicking the Create Route button. (Go to the Route Plan page and point at the create route button).
Non-WMS DCs
For Non-WMS DCs, missing routes or unlinked route plans can happen for the following reasons:
1. Route Ran Outside the Route Plan Time Range
The trailer must run within the scheduled route plan time range.
Example: If the route plan is scheduled for 1:00 AM–5:00 AM but the trailer leaves the DC at 6:00 AM, the system cannot link the route to the route plan.
As a result:
- The route may appear as unlinked.
- The route may not be created correctly in veroFresh™ and will be tagged as unassigned route
Recommendation
Ensure trailers run within the planned route schedule or make sure that the route plan time range will match the actual departure time. of the trailers.
2. Minimum Stop Duration Was Not Met
Each DC has a required minimum stop duration for stops to be recognized as valid. Depending on the DC, this may be:
- 5 minutes
- 10 minutes
- 15 minutes
- 20 minutes
If the trailer does not remain at stops long enough, the system cannot properly recognize the stops and may fail to link or create the route.
Recommendation
If trailers consistently fail to meet the minimum stop duration, ask your DC admin to contact Support so the minimum stop duration can be reviewed and adjusted if necessary.
3. Trailer Did Not Transmit Data During the Route
If the trailer does not transmit GPS or telematics data during the route, veroFresh™ cannot track, create, or link the route.
Recommendation
Please contact your telematics provider to:
- Verify why the trailer stopped transmitting data.
- Troubleshoot the issue.
- Ensure the trailer resumes reporting properly.
Please note that veroFresh™ cannot track routes if trailer data is not being transmitted.
2. Route With No Data (Missing Sensor Data Violation)
If a route has a Missing Sensor Data Violation, it means the trailer did not report any sensor data throughout the route.
a. Route With No Data: WMS
To verify:
Click the trailer name beside the route to open the trailer details page.
Review the GPS, Freezer, and Cooler data under the 30-Day Health Overview.
Check the last time data was successfully transmitted.
You may also contact your telematics provider to confirm if the trailer transmitted data during the route.
b. Route With No Data: Non-WMS
Sometimes a trailer may transmit GPS data but no temperature data.
To verify:
In the Route Data tab (available within the route), check if GPS data appears and stops are being visited:
Confirm whether Cooler and Freezer data are missing.
Open the trailer details page and check the 30-Day Health Overview for the last transmitted temperature data.
You may also verify transmission with your telematics provider.

3. Product Temperature Simulation Not Available
This issue appears when the system cannot simulate product temperatures for a route. This usually happens when:
-
Sensor data gaps
The trailer stops transmitting temperature data for more than 90 minutes.
-
During this gap:
- Simulated temperatures are unavailable.
- Temperature for stops after the gap show “not set”.
-
Incorrect route start or end times
- Sometimes the route’s start or end time is inaccurate.
-
This is most common for WMS DCs where:
- The route starts too early and cooler or freezer have not started reporting data yet.
How to fix:
- Adjust the route’s start and end times to match the actual schedule.
- To do this, click “Edit Route” on the route page and enter the correct start and end times.
Once the route times are updated or new sensor data fills the gap, the Product Temperature Simulation Not Available warning will automatically be removed.
How to check:
- Open the route in veroFresh™.
- Click the ⚠️ icon next to the trailer name to view route warnings
- Look for a violation showing a data gap longer than 90 minutes.
4. Requests to Delete Route Plans
Route plans cannot be deleted in veroFresh™. Whatever route plans your internal team uploads will remain in the system, as deletion is not currently supported.
