The Product Start Temperature page allows users to enter the starting temperature for each product used by the routes.
These temperatures serve as the initial product temperatures for all automatically created routes and are used as the baseline for temperature calculations. Keeping these values up to date helps ensure accurate temperature monitoring and reporting throughout a route.
How Product Start Temperatures Work
Users can enter a starting temperature for each product on the Product Start Temperature page.
Examples:
- QIP Lettuce: 36.0°F
- QIP Fries: 0.0°F
When a route is automatically created, veroFresh™ uses the most recent Product Start Temperature entered for each product as the starting point for temperature calculations.
The entered temperatures remain active for 24 hours from the time they are saved.
If no new temperature is entered within 24 hours, the system automatically uses the configured default temperature for that product until a new Product Start Temperature is entered.
Updating Product Start Temperatures
To update Product Start Temperatures:
- Navigate to Product Start Temperature from the left-hand navigation menu.
- Locate the product you want to update.
- Enter the current product temperature.
- Repeat for any additional products.
- Click Update Temperatures.
The updated temperatures will be used for routes created after the temperatures are saved.
Important
Updating a Product Start Temperature does not affect routes that have already been created.
Only routes created after the new temperature is entered will use the updated value.
24-Hour Temperature Validity
Each Product Start Temperature remains valid for 24 hours from the time it is entered.
For example:
| Time | Action |
|---|---|
| Monday 6:00 AM | Product Start Temperature entered as 36°F |
| Tuesday 6:00 AM | 24-hour validity period expires |
| After Tuesday 6:00 AM | System begins using the configured default temperature |
| New temperature entered | System immediately begins using the new Product Start Temperature for future routes |
To maintain the highest level of accuracy, Product Start Temperatures should be updated daily.
Default Temperature Fallback
Each product can have a configured default temperature.
When a Product Start Temperature has not been updated within the previous 24 hours, veroFresh™ automatically uses the default temperature for newly created routes.
This ensures that Product Temperature calculations can continue even when a current Product Start Temperature has not been entered.
Example
If the default temperature for QIP Lettuce is configured as 36°F:
- A Product Start Temperature of 34°F is entered on Monday.
- No additional temperatures are entered on Tuesday.
- After 24 hours, the system automatically reverts to the default temperature of 36°F.
- The default temperature remains in use until a new Product Start Temperature is entered.
Best Practices
- Update Product Start Temperatures at least once every 24 hours.
- Enter temperatures that reflect the actual product temperature at loading or staging.
- Verify that default temperatures are configured correctly for each product.
- Review Product Start Temperatures daily to ensure accurate Temperature calculations.
- Remember that changes only affect routes created after the update is saved.
